Wachigai-Top-

Like when you come back home, Wachigai is the place where you enjoy peaceful and soothing moment away from daily busy days. This transitional house, built with typical Kyofu-Machiya (type of architecture design developed in Kyoto) in Edo period, keeps the good old-days ambiance. The name “Wachigai” is taken after the Yago, the traditional name of the house.
We are really glad to bring passion and excitement back to this house after long absence of people, and to create new life along with tradition, and to you, who come from far away.
When you want to take a rest, please come and feel relax in this warm atmosphere and enjoy the fine local cuisine.

Please enjoy our dishes made with natural spring water and local ingredients. Of course, the finely selected Sake locally brewed makes those dishes even more pleasant. With consciously selected local ingredients and our appreciations to the nature and to you, we confidently offer the quality of tastes.

We would like to introduce our branded Sake “Wachigai”, brewed at 3 local breweries (Kinran-Kurobe, Hakuba-Nishiki, and Hokuan-Daikoku). Take pleasure in tastes of 3 different Sake with “Nomi-Kurabe”. Also we sell small bottles to enjoy at home.

Surrounded with the great nature and the river runs in the middle of city, Omachi is endowed with beautiful spring water and land. Even the tap water, originally come from the Alps of Japan, is really tasty and refreshing.
